Design system

Decimals: one system for Egypt's first digital bank

Every screen showing a balance, a fee or a confirmation has to feel equally trustworthy. I built Decimals from zero so every squad designs from one source.

  • Tokens for color, type, spacing and radius, with mobile components in Figma.
  • A design operating model: research, critique, review, engineering handoff.
  • Ownership and governance as the product grows.

AI in design

Three AI Figma plugins and a website built with AI

A system only works if people use it. I built AI-powered plugins for system adoption, content audits and system management, and built onebank's public website end to end with AI.

  • Checks adoption of the system across design files.
  • Audits UX copy at scale.
  • Coaching the team on AI across research, design and handoff.

BNPL launch

Launching mylo, B.TECH's first buy-now-pay-later app

BNPL wins or loses the decision at checkout, in seconds, with regulated onboarding in the way. I led the fintech design domain through mylo's launch.

Building design functions

Design teams for Egypt's early fintechs

At MoneyFellows, strangers form savings circles and trust each other every month. At Klivvr I built the design function from scratch and led it through public launch in March 2023.

Leading a UX chapter inside a global telco

Seconded to a Pivotal squad in London, I brought lean product practice back to Vodafone and ran the UX chapter that adopted it. Top Talent and Top Performer 2018/19.

Teams

Hire for range, grow leads

I've grown teams to 13 designers and managed 4 design leads. Designers own outcomes in their squads; leads own craft and growth.

Systems

Make consistency cheap

Design systems, playbooks and review rituals so quality doesn't depend on who's in the room. Then tools that check it automatically.

AI

Put AI in the workflow

I build with AI myself and coach teams to use it in research, design and handoff, so the time saved goes to problems that need people.

Lab

Still hands-on

The particles behind this page are mine too. Outside leadership work I build WebGL and Three.js pieces, 3D fintech icons, motion, Shopify themes and small AI tools. It keeps my judgement grounded in what's buildable.
